Born in Lodz, Poland in 1946. Graduated from Technical University of Lodz with M.Sc. in Chemistry in 1969, Ph.D. degree in 1981, and D.Sc. in 1992. Nominated as Professor of Chemistry in 1996 by the President of Poland.

Author and coauthor over 130 original papers in international journals, hundreds of conference contributions and over 30 patents. According to the Scopus database the H-index of these papers is equal to 30, and the papers were cited over 3000 times . Promoter of 12 Ph.D. Thesis and tens of M.Sc. works. Supervisor of numbers of long-term research trainings of foreigner scientists in Poland and technical missions on behalf of the IAEA to the research centers around the world (over 30 mission). Main inventor of radiation technology of hydrogel wound dressings patented and commercialized in a number of countries.
