About Project Marie Curie Chair at MBI is a research/training project on EU governance in the field of laser spectroscopy and laser technology supported by the European Commission. It was launched on the 1st January 2007 in the framework of the Marie Curie Chair of Excellence of Professor Halina Abramczyk (Technical University of Lodz, Poland)
About the PhD research seminar It is a interdisciplinary research seminar that is aimed at PhD students working on lasers, molecular spectroscopy, laser technology, laser diagnostics. The main goal of this seminar is to establish a platform for exchange PhD students between the laser laboratories on the scientific research and methodology basis. The PhD students that are selected will get opportunity to present their work as well as to learn about what is being done in other universities working on similar topics.
Eligibility criteria Candidates must be registered as PhD students and be working on on lasers, molecular spectroscopy, laser technology, laser diagnostics.
How to apply? This seminar is intended for all PhD students working in the field of on lasers, molecular spectroscopy, laser technology, laser diagnostics. Applications should be returned together with a 2 to 4 pages PhD proposal / summary along with the following information: full name, name of institution/university, name of the university department, dissertation title, nationality, contact details, name(s) of supervisor(s), dissertation title.

All selected candidates shall be notified by e-mail no later than 15 May 2008
Length of presentation Each participant will be allocated an hour in which they will have to decide how to divide between their presentation and questions / comments time. Nonetheless, the presentation should not be over half an hour. The working languages is English.

Covered costs The Commission funding allows the Marie Curie Chair project to cover the following costs: - Accommodation costs for the seminar. The team will take care of the bookings. - Travel expenses will be covered to reach Berlin up to 250 euro per participant (for exceptional circumstances, please contact us) - Lunches for participants
